Hi, i recently purchased Dell's 2007WFP panel. A02, firmware:V1B11. On VGA everything works perfectly. However when I switch to DVI mode there is nothing displayed both during BOOT and in windows - monitor continously reports 'entering power save'. Graphics card is Sapphire X800GTO - i've never got problems with DVI before. Doing some reserach on other machine (ATI 9000) i've manged to see display during BOOT and windows but only in VGA mode. Using then PowerStrip to check monitor it reports 'No DCC info avaliable' when reading EDID directly from monitor.

The Dell WFP-HC was tested dell 2407wfp the chase test in PixPerAn, a good bit of software for dell 2407wfp to quantify differences in real terms responsiveness between monitors. Dell 2407wfp The main differences then are visual. About this product Product Information Stylish and smart, the Dell E Series E is dell e1911c inch black monitor with a resolution of 1,x pixels, designed for watching HD movies dell e1911c surfing the dell e1911c.

Also windows cannot recognize monitor as a plug&play device on DVI and showing nothing under device manager. Anybody have idea what's going wrong? Help appreciated. Connection is actually via analog VGA since DVI simply don't work. Well unfortunately that doesn't help.

When you are connected via analog the Dell uses a different EDID than when you are connected via DVI. So posting the results using analog VGA tells you absolutely nothing about the DVI EDID. One way around the catch-22 of having only one display is to connect both analog and DVI to your ATI display adapter. Set the active input on the Dell to analog VGA and boot up. Start MonInfo - it will give data on the (good) analog VGA EDID in the Dell. Set the mouse pointer directly over Refresh button in MonInfo 2. Set the active input on the Dell to DVI - you will, of course, not be able to see the screen now 3.

Click the mouse button - since it was over the Refresh button in Moninfo, Moninfo will attempt to re-read the EDID 4. Count to 10, then set the Dell active input back to analog VGA 5. You should now see the (bad) DVI EDID from the Dell. Exit Moninfo without changing or touching anything else Now post your moninfo.ini file.

Ok, i've done it as You wrote. The good news is your EDID - both of them are ok - so there is nothing wrong with the display.

If I were you, I'd do this: 1. Connect the Dell via analog VGA 2.

Boot up in Safe Mode 3. Go into Device Manager and delete every single entry.under. 'Monitors' and 'Display adapters' 4. Go into Add/remove programs and uninstall everything ATI related 5. Shut down the PC Now: 6. Connect the Dell.only.

via DVI - disconnect all other analog and TV-out cables from your ATI card 7. Switch the Dell active input to DVI-D 8. Power-on the PC - can you see the POST? Boot into Safe Mode - can you see the screen (640x480)? If everything is good so far, go ahead and reboot normally into Windows and let Windows redetect your display card and monitor and load the appropriate drivers. Ok, i've gone through all the steps and NOTHING - i cannot see even POST/BOOT screens. However i checked some different configurations: 1.

Saphire X800GTO PCI-E DVI doesn't work either in POST or windows, additionaly windows cannot see monitor as P&P device 2. Excalibur R9000 AGP DVI works during POST/BOOT and in windows, but ONLY with VGA drivers loaded. Monitor cannot be detected as P&P device and any change in resolution/color depths resulting in 'entering power save' 3. NVidia Ti 4500 AGP DVI works during POST/BOOT and in windows with every resolutions/depth. HOWEVER monitor still cannot be detected as P&P device and is listed as 'Default Monitor' so, the magic question is.

Is monitor faulty or all these cards? Is it possible that despite good EDID something went wrong with DDC channel or DVI circuity and thus monitor cannot be detected as P&P device? So it seems to be a main problem.

I already noticed windows event viewer/system continously reported 'edid checksum error' when monitor was connected via DVI. What does it suggest??? - Event Type: Error Event Source: ati2mtag Event Category: DAL Event ID: 43033 Date: Time: 05:28:07 User: N/A Computer: Description: Edid checksum error Data: 0000: 00 00 00 00 01 00 5a 00.Z. 0008: 2a 00 00 00 19 a8 00 c0.?? 0010: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00.

0018: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00. 0020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00. NVidia's ddcw utility will.always. fail on non-Nvidia cards, and will frequently fail even on NVidia cards.

PowerStrip will frequently - not always, but frequently - succeed where ddcw fails. But it won't allow you to write invalid data - that will always rresult in failure. The PowerStrip message is just generic - it means no valid EDID was returned. But the error message may mean the checksum or header was bad, or that there was no device present. You also have to be careful with Viewsonic - it hasn't been updated in years, and can produce unexpected results if you feed it a 1.3 or newer EDID.

And yours is a 1.3 version EDID. I have several Dell monitors on hand, including a 2007FP which is the 4:3 1600x1200 version of the same monitor. The EDID is NOT write protected. You should save this string to a text file, name it 'newedid.txt', and then upload it using PowerStrip. Hi, I have a similar problem with my DELL 2007wfp now. I was using fx5200 128mb video card with my 2007WFP on DVI.

There was no problem at all untill that video card suddently failed last month. I guess it also damaged my mother board and then my motherboard won;t boot.

I sent the motherboard back to GIGABYTE and they fixed it. Now I put my old ATI Radeon VE on the repaired motherboard and I see no 'POST' on DVI mode. The analog mode is working fine.

However, when I boot up the computer under DVI connection, I could not see the POST information and I have to wait untill WINDOWS xp loads up. Then everything seems ok under WINDOWS XP. Could you help me on that? I don't believe you can do anything about that with software. Until Windows loads, what you see on screen is determined by your video BIOS, and you are not likely to find ATI providing you with an updated video BIOS.

(I am assuming your monitor is ok, since Windows itself recognizes it.) Fixed. Somebody also suggested me to update the Video BIOS. I did and it works.

I got the radeon 7000 BIOS from. Then I followed the readme file to creat the flash disk. Then, with command 'flashrom -p 0 ybfic924.504', it fixed the problem. Thanks a lot. Logged Pages: 1.
